In FY 2023-24, under its CSR activity, Auma India provided funds to Akshay Patra for procuring another food distribution van. The Akshaya Patra mid-day meal scheme, the largest of its kind in the world, provides nutritious meals to 2 million children in over 20,000 government schools every day across the nation. Auma India has been supporting this initiative by donating food distribution vans for over 15 years.
In FY 2023-24, Auma India furnished the six classrooms it constructed in Nammura Government High School, Nelagedaranahalli, Gruhalakshmi Layout, Bangalore. The students at the school come from poor backgrounds and live in nearby neighborhoods, hoping to learn in a competent environment for a better future.
Auma India had contributed funds to Swarga Foundation, for procurement of Sarathi Mini vehicle, a travel solution specifically designed for senior citizens and individuals with mobility impairment in FY 23-24. This vehicle is equipped with a specially designed area where wheelchairs can be easily parked inside the van, ensuring hassle-free travel.
AUMA India provides scholarships to 100 underprivileged children of ragpickers to provide financial support for the continuation of education. Auma India has been associated with an NGO, Hasirudala, a social impact organization that works with waste pickers and other waste workers to ensure a life with dignity. It works towards the betterment of the children through various programs that focus on making sure that children stay in school, complete their education, and find nurturing spaces for them to grow.
