| News New electric actuators for maritime applications Muellheim, 1 September 2008 AUMA will present two new actuator ranges for maritime applications at the SMM ( Established product ranges for cargo and the military surface/submarine shipbuilding industry have been upgraded providing a number of enhanced features and capabilities. Mechanically, the new ranges are based on the company’s established part-turn and valve actuators with speed-controlled motors which have been used worldwide for the last 15 years. The products also retain AUMA’s patented gear technology which ensures a compact actuator design and extremely low wear, even when exposed to high strain. Crucial developments have been made to the actuators’ operation and electronics. Integral local controls enable immediate valve motor operation after power supply connection. AUMA have also ensured that additional controls are no longer required as all control functions are now integrated within the actuator – as a result, end positions, tripping torques and all other parameters are directly set at the actuator. Additionally, the actuators can be equipped with a PROFIBUS DP interface and other fieldbus systems can be accommodated. Part-turn actuators SGM 04.1 – 10.1 or SGC 04.1 – 10.1 are provided for butterfly and ball valve automation and cover a torque range from 63 Nm to 500 Nm. Multi-turn actuators SVM 05.1 – 10.1 or SVC 05.1 – 10.1 are used for gate valve automation and provide torques between 25 Nm and 100 Nm. |
